Hotel with history, yet very well put together
We had a fun Scottish new years celebration in Glasgow. This hotel was an excellent oasis in a nice part of the city to get out of the rain and cold of winter. During my stay I did visit some of the other possible hotel choices I considered, and in doing so confirmed I made the best decision.

Great stay at a pretty hotel with wonderful staff!
The hotel is on a pretty square and is an impressive building from the outside. The inside has been done over to accommodate functioning as a hotel. This works fairly well. It has a very popular bar scene for locals. We ate in the bar when we arrived since it was on the late side and we only wanted something small; the food was very good. The facilities were clean and modern, and the hotel really has everything that you would need... quite charming! The only thing that was a little bit of a drawback was the room was awkwardly decorated; there is too much furniture, the couches are too big and the lights hang too low to give enough light. But all in all, a great experience

Guaranteed a Wonderful Vacation
Honestly, everything about our stay was perfect except the wine glasses weren't replaced in our room and the mini bar was not restocked. The hotel is beautiful. I highly recommend opting for the breakfast in booking your stay as it was a great way to start our day. Everything on the menu is included (a la carte, and the buffet along with a make your own bloody mary bar). If you are parking your car get the 25% discount for the garage on Bath Street from the concierge. The front desk staff was superb. They recommended a perfect family friendly restaurant around the corner called the Red Onion and they assisted us with dinner reservations and helped us plan our day trips to Inveraray and Edinburgh. Our family members who live in Glasgow were very impressed that we chose the Blysthwood as well.

Swank done right.
This is a very snazzy hotel overlooking lovely (but private) Blythswood Square is Glasgow. It's a short walk to most tourist locations, and there are shops and food galore within a few blocks. What's more impressive is the facility itself, which is gorgeous, consistent to it's theme and aesthetic, and loaded with amenities. The spa is real-deal, the staff uniformly helpful and courteous, and the bars and restaurant do not disappoint. We saw many beautiful people traipse in and out, and it's easy to see why. This is a legitimate luxury hotel without unreasonable price inflation (at least in September). Highly recommended.
