Hostal Marbella in Fuengirorla
Marvelous place in central area and close to the beach and numerous restaurants yet quiet for a restful sleep at night. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful.Although the front desk sells cold water and beer, I do wish they placed a small refrigerator in the room.

Hostal Marbella is going down hill fast
Having stayed at The Marbella several times in the past and always left positive reviews, we were so disappointed with our stay this time. We chose to pay extra for the suite, E62 room 306 and booked 8 nights, the ownership of this hotel has changed hands and boy does it show, gone are the memory foam mattresses replaces with cheap 2" foam, and awful steel bedhead which constantly bangs our wall and your neighbors, ill fitting bed linen, double on a king size bed, ended up with no bedding every night, terrible drain smell coming from the bathroom, which has recently been re-modelled with no "trap" on the drains, balcony sliders difficult to open and even more difficult to close. TV has one English channel, which is unwatchable as the reception is so poor, WI FI is almost non existent, comes and goes, only barely good for email. If you're lucky enough to get the suite, you gain a fridge which goes off every time you leave the room and a kettle, what for I don't know, as there are no cups or even one sachet of tea or coffee, also no drinking glasses. We are so disappointed that this hotel has been allowed to deteriorate so much in the last 12 months, there is an air of poor maintenance throughout the whole hotel and to be honest none of the management seem to care or even notice, it's such a shame as the location is good for the town center.

Inifishent and dishonest Reception!
I arrived at the hotel tired, I checked in and did not notice it was only for 2 nights and not 3 nights, as I had booked. I thought that something had gone wrong with your booking system, so I booked another night through booking .com, That morning, the girl on reception informed me, that I was booked in twice for the same night, and had to pay twice for the same night. Why did she accept the other booking? I asked her if she could transfer one of those nights to the following night as I needed another 5 nights accomadation, she said that it was not allowed, as far as I am concerned, she is dishonest and inifishent. I changed hotels, so the owners of the Hotel have lost 4 nights income, having an empty room. I hope the owners read this report.
