Good option for cabin users that need extra space
Breakfast worth paying for: costs 500 yen (around 5 euro). The room was spacious I would say for being a cabin (in many cabins you cannot stand, as the height of the room is divided into 2 cabins, but these ones are not the case). The mattress was not excellent in my case, not that bad either, average I would say. The showers are in a different floor from that of the rooms, just one floor though and there is elevator. They provide amenities for hygiene. Wifi is very deficient.

This hotel could be regarded as the Japanese equivalent of a backpacker's hostel :) If one keeps this in mind, there is nothing to complain of (atleast for me). The cubicle was tidy and I was able to sleep well. The rooms also had TV but alas, the remote and display were entirely in Japanese! This could be something they could improve upon. Special mention must be made of the bathrooms, which were extremely clean despite their communal nature. The hotel also had a laundromat (which I didn't use so can't comment, but it was helpful that they did). A tip: Before arriving at the hotel, prepare a smaller handbag containing a change of clothes, toothbrush, etc. (actually toothbrush is provided); basically whatever you need for the night and the next morning so that you can leave your luggage at reception. I didn't, and I had to lug my suitcase down one floor to the cubicles, then lug it up again (the elevator only stops at reception).

Nice location
This was the best accomodation that I stayed at during my 2 week travel in Japan.It is a different concept than capsule hotels with a much larger space and bed.It was very cleaned and bed sheets were changed everyday, bathrooms are very clean and the best part is the location. It is only 1 minute walk to the Subway station and very close to many attractions of Kyoto. It will be my first choice of stay next time I am back to Japan..

Hostel ++
It was like a very private, very quiet, rather luxurious hostel experience. I felt safe and slept wonderfully. It was clean, comfortable, and the staff were very nice. The breakfast is uninspired, but the location and the price are unbeatable.

Great budget option
For those who don't want to stay in a hostel nor pay a lot for a hotel this is a great budget option, however the breakfast was too western (a lot of bread) and the amount of sleep you'll get will vary by who is sleeping next to you. I stayed business class, but that is the cheaper option and perhaps had a lot of business people coming and going - consider first class (for extra space too). Note if backpacking you'll be sleeping with your bag - but the bed is wide enough.
