Incredible Belizian Jungle Experience
The Mystic River Resort is great. The staff is very friendly. The cottages are very nice. The location is great for many of the best activities you will want to do while in Belize.I like that the resort organized these activities themselves instead of relying on another company. They also arrange transportation to and from Belize City airport. Be prepared for an "off-the-beaten-path" adventure. Roads in Belize need work but that just adds to the adventure if you have the right attitude.

Secluded Jungle Luxury
This place is fantastic. It's out in the jungle and does an amazing job of combining wild, authentic jungle with luxury accommodations and amenities. The Palapa Bar is just adorable and I loved getting pre- and post-dinner cocktails there - it's a perfect evening spot! There is a full service restaurant onsite - the food was great and the coffee was amazing. This place is expensive AND it's so difficult to get to that you almost have to book all your tours through them - which did initially annoy me because they aren't cheap and I do like to have options as well as easy access to town. BUT - we did do two full day tours through them and it was truly worth it - they stick to small group tours and are extremely well organized and prompt with pickups and details. And though you almost have to eat all your meals onsite, they were actually reasonably priced - averaging $20 for an entree at dinner, though there are cheaper options available as well. Mystic River went out of the way to accommodate us (even taking my husband on a personal tarantula hunt on request) and the managers Ricky and Ellie are extremely hands on. If you're looking for luxury accommodation in the jungle with a staff that anticipates your every need, this is the choice for you!

Absolutely Incredible
We booked 2 nights at the Mystic River Resort as part of a 6-day country wide adventure. We started at Mystic River & were amazed at how incredible it was. I'm not exaggerating when I say everything was well beyond our expectation. It's 2 hours from Belize City, and we went way back into the jungle. The resort sits next to a river, and the grounds are really outstanding. Clean, manicured, well maintained. The service (from literally everyone) was amazing. I've trained hundreds of people in customer service, and these guys have it down. I was impressed. We got engaged at Caracol Mayan Ruins while there, and we came back and mentioned it to a few of the staff. The next thing we knew, we were at the Palapa Bar having a drink, and the Resort Managers came up to us, said they heard about pour engagement, and gave us a complimentary bottle of wine with our dinner. The food and drinks were also incredible. We made a special point to try a variety of different things, and everything was far better than we have ever tasted in the states. I was really surprised at how a place in the jungles of Belize could have superior service, lodging, drinks, and food. It was top notch all the way. We travel quite a bit, and rarely go back to the same place twice, however this was so great, we were going to change our travel plans to stay here longer. We ended up keeping our plans, but will definitely return for another amazing experience. I recommend this Resort 100%.

Jungle oasis
Great place to stay! Very peaceful, quiet. Enjoy the sounds of the jungle, birds and river. Very clean rooms and friendly staff. Private pool with the Cloud 9 suites is wonderful. No air conditioning but a ceiling fan and cool evening breeze were sufficient. Wifi only available in bar or restaurant.
