Good Stay
Because of our flight’s late arrival, we chose this hotel for its 24-hour reception and good location on the Palmer St restaurant strip, a short walk from the town centre. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Underground parking is free but not secured. The buffet breakfast was delicious. Our room was spacious, with efficient air con, comfortable beds, two good chairs, hospitality tray and frig, no minibar and no ice cube tray. The two bottles of water delivered each day were very welcome. The bathroom, with walk-in shower, worked well but was showing its age. The bedroom lighting was excessively dim, with no ceiling lights and no light in the entrance whee the air con control is located. We had to find our emergency torch to see the control panel. The bedrooms curtains are not quite blackout. Minor inconveniences in the grand scheme. We would return and recommend, but bring a torch.

Position Position for Football
The Rydges is a central spot if you’re in town to watch the football. Easy walking distance to stadium, town and plenty of restaurants & pubs. The rooms are slightly dated however the mattress is a true king size and the most comfortable we’ve slept on. Good view from The 5th floor on the Marina side overlooking the pool. Air conditioning was not that great for an extremely hot weekend and we could not get it lower than 22deg. Could not work out how to use the remote control for the TV which was a good size so gave up trying. The pool could do with some more seating and a general tidy/ revamp but nice and big area. Did not dine in this time but have had the breakfast previously and very basic. Decent coffee was charged extra so only percolated included.

We wanted to have breakfast at the buffet. There was plenty of variety but a little lacking. Bacon over cooked and tough and everything cold. I am a barrister and can't understand why a decent coffee can't be included in the cost. I know the time and cost it takes to make one. Would definitely be a bonus.

the bed was so comfortable. The staff did not know when the kitchen opened at the two dining options for dinner. They also did not provide me with a document I apparently needed to give the shamrock to book to the room. I am guessing the dining room was not open due to lack of staff? Liked the underground parking
