However, room was very hot when I arrived - both radiators, and the towel rail, were on full, and windows shut, despite being the hottest day of the year. Opening all windows, and switching off all radiators helped eventually, but towel rail could not be switched off in room, nor apparently by staff.

There were gaps between windows and frames which made the room unbearable at times. A double pane would have cut down on the traffic noise and the freezing temperature. A thicker quilt would have helped. Food was outstanding.
