Hotel Kobos, Seoul
Decent Hotel
I needed a place to stay in Seoul for a couple of days, and found a deal for this hotel. It’s relatively close to the subway, and the area has a lot of restaurants and bars to visit. There’s also some cultural places you can visit right across the street. The hotel is nice, though a bit oldish. The main issue is that there’s a persistent smell that I noticed the entire weekend. I don’t know If it was a problem for that weekend only, but if I had to guess, I’d say there’s something wrong with the sewage pipes in the hotel. It’s a noticeable, unpleasant odor considering overall, the hotel is quite clean. If it wasn’t for that, I would give this hotel five stars for the price I paid for it.

We enjoyed our stay. Room was large and clean. The bathroom is huge! The room had everything we needed. The location was good with adequate parking. Breakfast was very nice and those working were helpful and friendly. Check-in and out was fast and easy.

Wonderful ♥
When I arrived the woman at the desk was really helpful and kind. The room was perfect and clean. The bed was very comfortable and overall just wonderful. When I needed something it was available and the staff was more than willing to help. Thank you so much for an awesome stay.

Probably a best bang for the buck
I have visited Seoul several times and I could say I know the area and the city pretty well. This was the first time I have stayed in Hotel KOBOS. The hotel provides pretty much of basic amenities and decent comfort, and the staff is kind. From my experience, it would be challenging to find the similar hotel close to the downtown area of Seoul with such a reasonable price (unless you go for guest house or Airbnb). Seoul is an expensive city, and if you don't mind basic amenities (though free Wi-Fi is impressive), this is the place to go. HOWEVER, if you have a preference for a decent breakfast, you may want to find a bakery nearby (there is one). The kitchen really needs to revise their menus and the quality of bread and soup they present every morning. But again, given how much I've paid for that, perhaps it is too much to complain. They also need to pay attention to smell in the room (not horrible but little annoying), and towels in the bathroom. Largely they are clean, but sometimes you can see that they are old ones with some smell of chlorine bleach, so you can see that those "basic" things could be easily improved. For those who don't speak Korean, yes, the staff and the kitchen would be nice and decent, but they don't necessarily speak English like you go to other famous touristic places. Overall, it is very reasonable stay, and if you can speak a few words in Korean, it would be much more comfortable stay.
