Cleanliness is a non negotiable...
This hotel is potentially one of the worst I've stayed in. I understand that for a small independent hotel, updating decor might not be a priority but cleanliness is a non negotiable. Every time i rolled over in bed, a cloud of dust billowed out either side of my face. I don't think it is a coincidence that i woke up with several bite marks on my cheeks. Both the pillows and duvet, were so old and worn, that it actually turns my stomach to think how old they must be. And if that wasn't enough to stop me having a half decent night's sleep, the constant bell ringing from the kitchen below me could be compared to torture tactics! Do not stay here!

Rural Heaven
Breakfast with Santa, had family room number 9, slept very comfortably, ate in restaurant night before, only thing lacking was a kids menu but two small pizzas were provided, would have lied a fridge in the family room. Swimming pool and spa would be a real bonus!

Not dog friendly
States dog friendly, wasn't,made to eat dinner in the bar off a small, low drinks table.Expected to do the same at breakfast..Dog owners should be made aware of this before the book, never again, made to feel like a social pariah because we had a very small and well behaved dog with us.

The Man at The Top
So pleased to get booked in - as tried before but hotel was booked up. The waiter that took our evening meal was so friendly and approachable and really made us feel welcome and that our business was important to him. The chap that came to sort the heating in our room out, was also really approachable and very helpful, gently pointing out that we had been pressing the wrong heating control button. How surprised we were to find out that this multi-tasker was the boss himself. This confirmed our belief that standards all come from the top ! As business psychologists we found the standards at this hotel excellent in all regards. The food was superb and the service equally so, despite a large wedding reception and evening event taking place during our stay. The staff were all so helpful and friendly and a credit to our waiter and heating man David.
