A great get away & dive vacation!
A great time in Cozumel!!! Room was ready early and everything was clean, cool and comfortable. I targeted this hotel primarily because of its good reviews and its proximity to prime dive sites. Both did not disappoint! The diving was incredible and the resort lived up to the reviews.

Upgrade to Star Prestige! Definitely visit Cozumel
Wherever you stay make sure you see the Mayan Ruins, go to Eco Park at Punta Sur & eat at the Chen Rio Restaurant! Go on a mystic snorkel tour! If you do stay at this hotel, it's clean, decently sized, no buildings over 2 stories, definitely doesn't have that towering resort feel (which I don't like). At the resort you can see flamingos, turtles, peacocks, iguanas, a ton of lizards, even tiny frogs, we even saw a coatimundi (sp?), and we rented snorkel equipment on site for $2 for an hour. Halfway through our stay we upgraded to Star Prestige. Definitely do this. Private lounge, private cabanas, private ish beach area, better booze, snack all day long, snacks in your room, don't have to make reservations at the restaurants. And Omar and Raymundo are at the private lounge/bar area and they are the best! And Daniel who works the all night restaurant is fabulous too! If you eat good sushi often, don't eat the sushi here, I'm sure it would be fine if you don't have access to good sushi ... none of my group approved. Everything else was decent to excellent, they had a lot of options.

The Junior Suite is Worn
The Junior Suite needs remodel. Toilet was broken and they couldn't fix it. 2nd TV was missing. But it was very clean and resort is nice. I would go back but would just book the regular suite because my buddy had one of those and his room was better and recently renovated.

Awful service
First let me state that the ladies working the front desk were very helpful and great when checking in. That was the last good thing to really say about the resort. There were remodeling about half of their rooms, which I understand happens, but they would block off sidewalks to do so. This made what was already a difficult resort to find your way around that much more of a problem. The worst issue we had was the food, and the service at the restaurants. It was beyond awful. We ate at all three restaurants on site, with reservations. Every dinner we had to wait a minimum of 30 mins for them to even come take our drink order. That was with half the restaurant being full and 5-7 servers working. No excuse!! when the did take our orders they were wrong every time. We ordered 4 medium rare steaks at the steak house. One came out extremely rare and the other three extra well done. They also informed us at check in that if we caught fish on our deep sea fishing charter they would cook it for us right there at the resort. When we brought our fish in they said they could not do this, as it was not allowed. We took our fish to a bar/restaurant next door named Albertos!! It was incredible a must stop if you choose to stay at this resort. Lastly we paid an upgrade for one of our rooms to be an ocean view suite. Do not waste the money. The little windows they have on the ocean side of the room are covered by palm trees.
