Gem in the South Pacific
We stayed here on our stopover to New Zealand because the Aggie Grey in town is currently shut down. This hotel is a hidden gem in the South Pacific. Our room was spotless and comfortable beyond what we could imagine. The view of the ocean and private beach is breathtaking. Dinner in the restaurant fale mere steps from the ocean while the sunsets definitely might be a once in a lifetime experience. Staff is helpful and courteous and truly represent the Samoan way. We will be back.

Pest problem. Not worth the price.
The price, I had really high expectations for the quality of this hotel, but even more so, the quality of the room. When I walked into my room everything was pretty clean and in order, however two things stood out right away. The first was that despite having AC, the room felt humid and had a stale odor. The second, was that when I went to go shower there was a nest of cockroaches in the corner of the shower... GROSS.

Go to the Spa
Yes it was New Years weekend and so the hotel was very busy. But, they would have known that in advance from the bookings so should have rostered on more staff, set up additional tables for breakfast etc. People standing around looking for somewhere to sit at breakfast is not a good look. The lounge bar "ran out" of mojito (how do you do that - I could see the individual components). Staff obviously feeling a bit overcome and would just avoid coming to tables for orders. There was rubbish (plastic etc) in the garden outside our room that was still there 3 days later (we put it in the room bin when leaving). The Spa however was wonderful and would definitely recommend treating yourself to a massage. We have stayed before and it has been lovely - just not well resourced for what is probably the busiest weekend of the year.

Very Good8.0
Fantastic views but water is too murky
Fantastic views and water looks great, but water is too murky to snorkel from beach. Must take tour to get to clear waters. Literally 3 cm visibility at wading levels and 10 cm visibility 100 meters out. 1 hr free wifi in lobby was nice.

Trip to paradise
Had a great stay at Aggie Grey's. Staff is wonderful! The only thing lacking is there is no gift/convenience shop on site! The hotel is very far away from any stores for things like snacks in the room, toiletries, etc and it would be nice to have these things more readily available.
