Hotel Golden Star, Prague

This is one of the best hotels that we stayed in. The building is traditional and beautiful. At the same time rooms are modern and comfortable. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The breakfast was good and offered from 7 am to 10am. We have managed to check in earlier as our room was ready. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the hotel. The area is lovely with nice restaurants and shops. From the the old town to the hotel there is a small hill but nothing too difficult. I will definitely return to the hotel again.

Lovely view, not so lovely smell
Lovely spacious room with amazing view of Prague. Very picturesque! Lots of things to do & see which aren't too far away to walk. Lots of places to eat. Shame it was 2 single beds pushed together in the room, so glad we got a non smoking room.. the hotel lobby & halls smelt very strong of smoke.

Lovely hotel at a very reasonable price
Lovely, renovated hotel in central Prague. At the top of Nerudova street (so you do have to walk up the hill to get there - not steep, but a little long when it's hot and humid and you're tired and pregnant), so the views of Prague were gorgeous. We had a corner room which afforded nice air flow when the windows were opened, A/C was also available and worked well. Room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The hotel was quiet (carpets in the halls so you don't hear people dragging luggage, etc.) and we were never bothered by early housekeeping. It is definitely in the touristic area of Prague so do expect outside noise (young people out late at night, etc.), especially on the weekend. No major clubs around though, so no trying to sleep through booming club music. The neighbourhood wakes up early (all Czechs do, so you won't escape this anywhere) with buskers and any nearby construction starting at 7-8am. The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and spoke very good English.
