The property had contacted me two days prior to our arrival in Budapest, providing a telephone number to call when i arrived. After arrival, it took 54 attempts to contact the number. I was disgusted with the manner of the male on the other end when i did speak to them, who stated that because he did not believe that we were going to pay, telling me that I was no longer entitled to the apartment and my booking had been cancelled. Considering it had stated we paid on arrival when booking, this was a surprise. Despite indicating that we would be paying, he was abusive on the phone before hanging up. I was unable to get back to the number which kept ringing out or diverting. I found it appalling to leave my group with no accommodation, which was the F1 weekend. I would recommend not booking this apartment. I also noticed that it was relisted soon after for a much higher price than what I would have paid for it. Since returning, i have seen other reviews where similar experiences have been had.

They canceled on us on the day and gave us no forewarning. We arrived at the front door and the person on the phone was very rude. They did not offer any help. We were stuck in Budapest with no options. DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!!

Beyond dreadful
I was sent an email to phone the property when i arrived which I did. After ringing countless times a man answered and told me he didn't have a room for me as they had booked them all. I contacted Hotel.com who contacted the host and told me to go anyway. I went to the property and they laughed at me, refused to look at the booking and told me to find alternative accommodation. This was at 22.00 on a rainy night and i had bags and I am not young. They were unbelievably unpleasant and uncaring. Please think twice about booking here.

A beautiful authentic apartment set in an old residential building in a perfect location for seeing most of the Budapest sights. The apartment looks like it belongs in a museum, but that makes it very fun to stay in - it's definetly not generic bland hotel. The room was spacious with a very well stocked kitchen. All appliances and amenities are old but functional. The location is good for transport connections and close to the vaci street district. Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants nearby. The owner was good with communication and checkin was easy. I'd stay here again.
