Fantastic location
The staff was great, nice sized room as far a japanese room sizes go, perfect location right next to the train station, a very short walk to the main strip of Akihabara.

Great location.
The Washington Hotel is at a great location, right across the street from the Akihabara train station. We knew it was pretty close by, but didn't expect it to be THAT close. It was a very pleasant surprise! The room was pretty quiet, but we could just barely hear the trains passing by; it's very reminiscent of the sound in animes. For me, it's kind of soothing. Like all the other places we stayed at in Japan, the place was clean. They provided a mini fridge, water heater, and hair dryer in the room. The room and bathroom were roomier than we expected. The place we stayed at in Kabuya was TINY. It's right at the heart of Akihabara. We would definitely stay here again if we're ever visiting.

Highly disappointed
We booked this hotel for it's proximity to the JR station and for certain amenities that we listed on the hotels.com website. The location was ideal but the amenities were sadly lacking. The website listed and our email confirmation confirmed the presence of washers and dryers available for hotel guest use, but there are none onsite. They offer laundry service instead which begins at $7 a shirt and $10 for jeans. I was highly disappointed in the misrepresentation of the description of the hotel. Another misfortune was that they turned off our room's wifi the morning of check out. I've never had that happen to me in all of my travels, and I did not appreciate it.

Great hotel, great location.
If you've never been to Japan before, I should warn you that the hotel room sizes are much smaller than you're used to. Having said that, the size of the rooms at this hotel are pretty decent in terms of average Tokyo hotel. The hotel is literally across the street from the Akihabara metro station (which has easy access to the rest of Tokyo). And it's just a block away from the beginning of the famous Electric Town in Akihabara. With a decent price, good room size, very friendly staff (who speak English well) and a great location, I'd say this is one of the best hotels I've stayed at in Tokyo. If you are a fan of the scene in Akihabara, this is your best accommodation choice. As a tip, I don't think the breakfast at the hotel is worth paying for. It's decent, but you can find a lot of other cheaper options in Akihabara.

It was awesome, the hotel staff was very friendly and spoke excellent English. I was able to have all of my questions answered and had no problem.
