Skolabru Guesthouse, Reykjavik
There's no bathroom in the room and no dark curtains on the windows to sleep in 24 hour daylight.

Uncomfortable stay
Dingy and uncomfortable. The shared bathrooms were filthy and the showers were not functional. Check in has to be done prior to arriving as thereis no front desk or reception, which is difficult when just arriving and not having a phone to call with. Room was large but the sheets felt unclean. The area is nice though, close to many local attractions and eateries. Wouldn't really recommend apart from location.

It was dirty, things were broken, chair was barely put back together and we could have gotten hurt sitting on it when it collapsed. I told the housekeeper about it and she said, oh yeah it breaks every day, I always have to put it back together. SO GET RID OF IT! only thing it has going for it is the location

Very Good8.0
Comfortable, cozy, even a bit old-fashioned
This was a perfectly located, clean, basic place to stay. Not fancy, but very pleasant. Shared baths and talkative neighbors could be an issue for some, but no problem for us.

near everything, but loud
We stayed one night in the guesthouse to save money on our Icelandic adventure. It’s an older property that feels a little run down. Check in must be arranged before arrival – at a physical location about a 3 minute walk or call them to meet you at the property. There is parking nearby, but it doesn’t come with the place (P3 is cheapest but farthest). The bedroom was a good size and the beds were comfortable. There’s one dining room-type chair in the room, a large dresser, and armoire. There are 3 bathrooms in the building – one on each floor, each with a toilet, sink, and shower (only two were working while we were there). Bring your own toiletries for showering. There is a shared communal kitchen area on the 2nd floor. There isn’t an elevator. The location was very loud on a Saturday evening in mid-September with the windows closed. We wouldn’t stay again.
