    Loved it.

    Lovely authentic Spanish hotel, over 200 years old. You won't have all the mod cons, but the charm makes up for it. Lovely continental breakfast as well.

    Nice Hotel

    Basic Hotel but suited our needs 3 ladies as a base as we were there to surprise a friends birthday in Javea , unfortunately we did not get time to explore Ondara, but did take a short walk into village...lovely Spanish theme and apparently beach is nearby.

    Misleading mileage

    When I booked it was because we were going to see a theatre group in Alcalali. The website said the hotel was 6km away when actually it was 20 km away! Also disappointed the pool had no water in as it was a glorious day in Ma hand a swim would have been lovely.

    Hotel La Palmera in Ondara - could be

    with some tweaking and more eye to detail, so much better that it is at the moment. Lovely old spanish house with lots of character. Our room was clean but very basic. Would have appreciated a chest of drawers instead of the computer/work desk plus the wardrobe was full of blankets so had to keep clothes in suitcase. Outside pool area and the little terrace we had access to, should have been a lot cleaner. Sunbeds, chairs and tabletops where dirty, due to the pine trees (bird droppings etc) and should have been hosed down every day. However, the day we left they were being cleaned. Overall one star hotel, not somewhere at the moment to spend more than a couple of nights in. Hotel owners/staff very friendly. We ate one night in the restaurant and the food was extremely good. The downside was that there didn't seem to be set opening and closing times to the restaurant, or any indications if it was open unless you asked. We know the area very well, so knew that the hotel was on a main road and next to a car dealership but could see that if you did not know this, you could be disappointed in the location. Has a lot of potential.
