A great, nice place, that is a good value.
The hotels on the quiet side of the city center. I liked that. I love the fact that it was the 17th century home converted into a bed-and-breakfast. Tuhami, The manager was nice and helpful with things to do in the area. Someone commented about the stairs being narrow but he helped me get all my bags up to the fourth floor. That's good service. The bathroom was outside of the room in the hallway but there was never a conflict in using it. I was pleasantly surprised with the room, it was big and had a kitchen and dining area. The bed was very comfortable and I was able to sleep with the windows open with a nice cool breeze coming in. All in all an excellent experience. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and I will return. It's quaint and a very good value.

Historic Dutch Canal House
We loved the location and the view, overlooking the canal across from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam where our son is currently an exchange student. We had the upstairs area, a spacious flat with a small kitchen, breakfast table and bedroom area with a couch. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the manager, Tuhami, is very nice. The main downside is that the staircase is extremely steep and narrow, requiring a hand-rope to make your way up and down, quite difficult for transporting luggage. The bathroom is across the hall from the room and has only a shower and toilet, requiring us to use the kitchen sink and, separately, bedroom mirror. Despite being called a B&B, breakfast was not included, a "Continental breakfast" costing an additional 15 euros each, so we opted to eat at a restaurant nearby. Overall I would recommend this place for the unique experience of staying in a historic Dutch canal house.

Studio room on canal, lack of assistance
After arriving very early in the morning to Amsterdam we made our way to the B&B. We woke up whoever was there, they did not know we were arriving. We did book the day before. Hotels.com does not offer an option to tell the hotel what time you will be arriving. So the guy was a little disgusted with us saying he didn't know what time we were planning to arrive, but allowed us to leave our luggage there until the 2 PM check-in time. When we were shown to our room, the top floor studio. The room was nice, however, the floor was Jute and hurt our feet. The bathroom is outside the room but still private for our use only. The bathroom was very small with no sink to wash your hands. Kitchen stocked with everyday necessities to prepare and eat your food. We tried to check out early (around 8 or 9). We could not find anyone. We waited and waited and still no one came. So we rang the doorbell and someone came running downstairs. We felt we were all alone in the B&B. We did not see much of the home except as we were going to and from our room. It was fun to stay in a traditional canal home, but if we were ever to stay here again, we would find out the "rules" of checking in and out, etc. beforehand in hopes that our experience would be better. Street below was a little noisy. It sits right on the corner of a busy street, tattoo parlor next door.
