FIrst time in capsule hotel - amazing!
First experience at a capsule hotel and it was incredible! The sleeping quarters and shower level is incredibly clean and well-organized. Everyone keeps to themselves so you don't feel bombarded with people. There's a lounge in the lobby to hang out if you don't want to sleep yet. Free, fast wifi. Wifi is also available inside your capsule. Highly recommend

Great experience, will book again.
Great experience you can only get in Japan! This capsule hotel's futuristic look is great in contrast to all the traditional, historic views you will get in Kyoto. It's also pretty new (booked Dec 2015) so everything looked really clean and bathrooms were great. I'm only 5ft so the size of the capsules did not bother me at all, it was surprisingly comfy. The floor I was on was only 15% full that night. The only con is it's not soundproof at all, so make sure to have earplugs if you have trouble sleeping amongst snoring and alarms ringing.

Pros: Great location, clean hotel and bathrooms. Cons: Louder guests than most pod hotels, lockers on different floor than pods, pods were warm.

A good one time experience for tourists.
I was hoping this would be a more authentically Japanese experience but it was more like going to a European youth hostel. Lots of backpackers and bad smelling feet. The locker room was crowded and difficult to get ready for bed in. 9 hours was still uniques and my pod was cool. They could use temperature controls and maybe a white noise machine. People clambering around in their pods and rating their noisy key chains kept me wake till I popped a few Xanaxes. Basically a fun thing I probably wouldn't do again.
