Great stay
You’ll be blow away by your hotel suite, definitely not like a typical hotel suite in the US. It was a 1500 square ft 3 bd 2.5 bath condo with tons of windows and balconies. Your room keys lets you step off the elevator right into your suite For the money you can’t beat it. The free breakfast was the best, they only had one restaurant and food was just ok. They did have a girll open for lunch by the pool with more choices just wish we could get those choices for snacks and dinner as well but we couldn’t. I guess bc we had a kitchen and grocery store within walking distance that meant we would cook our own meals but when I’m on vacation last thing I want to do is cook. Disappointed that chips and guacamole or salsa or nachos etc were not on the menu? The beach is NOT a swimming beach- kinda disappointed. Very rocky and it’s a steep way down from the hotel to walk to get to it. They have a shuttle which was helpful. The pool was beautiful. Take a guided and I mean professional guided tour of Manuel Antonio National park and you will see so much exotic wildlife that most people who go on their own miss out on. A tour guide has a high powered scope and we saw monkeys sloths iguanas bats etc. that the naked eye just can’t see through the dense brush.

Good 6.0
Average hotel that truly lacks identity
For some reason we weren't blown away like we expected to be based on the price and the reviews. While the property is certainly nice and in a beautiful area, it definitely lacks in a lot of areas. I'm surprised it gets so many 5 star reviews. Pros: Pool is pretty as is the restaurant Staff was very friendly Cons: Despite being fairly new a lot of areas in the hotel seem run down Quality of food was mediocre at best, including the breakfast Gym is small & hot with mediocre equipment Internet in room didn't work very well Doesn't feel like a hotel, more like an apartment building complex Floor in hotel room was extremely slippery Everything including is open air (restaurant, lobby, waiting area, game room). We had to constantly fend of big and small bugs at the breakfast, some of which were nesting in the very wicker tables we were eating on. Yuck. Beach is very rocky and a pretty far walk down (or up) a steep hill although they have a shuttle pickup truck One thing we didn't realize is that the hotel consists of apartments that are individually owned and converted into hotel rooms. We ended up with a huge apartment with 3 bed rooms and kitchen which was convenient but didn't feel very personal. So overall a somewhat disappointing experience, especially considering the high price.

Fantastic!!!
I have no complaints, the property is beautiful, the service is outstanding. The actual living area has everything you could need. I highly recommend this place to couples or families, or if you just want to hang solo. Great amenities and lots of restuarants and shops in the immediate area. Great Resort!!

Highly recommend!
Our stay at Los Altos was amazing. From the friendly and helpful staff to the huge rooms - we had only a positive experience all around. The property was so beautiful which included an infinity pool, walking paths, private beach, a good restaurant- and we could watch monkeys and sloths from the comfort of our balcony!

Great memory
This hotel has it all. It’s situated in the hill top of humid tropical forest with hiking distance to three beautiful beaches. We spent two half days hiking in the tropical forest, watching white face monkey jumping between trees, watching sloths curling up on the tree, hearing hauler monkey nearby playing. We loved one sloth so much and layed down below the tree where he sleeps, stared at him for a full afternoon. Hotel staff was very friendly, I believe the restaurant is the best in the area, service people in the restaurant is super nice, made our dining experience very enjoyable. Hotel room is very spacious and it’s one of the largest ocean view suite I have ever stayed. Of course after five hours we left, I realized that I left my glasses in the hotel, hotel staff were able to retrieve it and send to my next hotel without charge. My boys are telling me they want to be back for next Christmas. I highly recommend this hotel with kids.
