Probably a nice enough hotel but we had a dreadful room. Absolutely would not stay again, nor recommend. Pros: hotel is in a good location, walkable from station, relatively quiet street but near tourist attractions. Staff have excellent English and were mostly very helpful. Cons: we stayed in room one. It was a split level room (not obvious when booking) which was not ideal for our circumstances. It also faced into an internal courtyard, and was right opposite the lift. This meant we faced people being right outside our window (in some cases smoking) forcing us to have the curtains closed, leaving it dark and claustrophobic. We faced a lot of noise (luckily it was winter so courtyard was not heavily used) but we were woken early from people walking right past. Also the lift was used routinely by staff with heavy trolleys, resulting in lots of noise. We spoke to one staff member who was apologetic but said there were no spare rooms. Upon check out the (very helpful, and genuinely quite nice) staff member was very apologetic, and interestingly told us that the room was an upgrade - so I'm not sure quite how these two accounts tally up. We also experienced issues with the WiFi (with only worked sporadically) and noted that the running machine was not working at the time we tried it - although we were assured this was later fixed. Can't fault the staff, but I do not think the room is fit for purpose, it feels like they've tried to squeeze it in for the sake of it.

What an awesome stay. The hotel was really clean and was equipped with everything you need. Super comfortable. The staff are so friendly and helpful, it made our stay that much more delightful! Daily complementary fresh lemonade and sangrias were a bonus :)

Loved the Opera Garden Hotel & Apartments
Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, and 100% recommend. Pros: Location is perfect; very central and safe with good restaurants nearby. Incredibly nice and helpful front desk staff. Breakfast and cleaning teams very friendly too. Lovely touches like the free lemonade, apples, coffee and sangria. I stayed in a 28sqm room. It was spacious and very comfortable. I didn't really use the kitchen/dining area but it was nice to have the extra space. Very firm mattress was perfect for me. Minor cons: No oil or cleaning products in the kitchen. No body lotion in the bathroom. No proper shelf in shower cubicle to put items on (there is a mini shelf), so if you are using more than shower gel /shampoo you have to be a bit of a contortionist while retrieving items from the shower base. Breakfast was ok. As others have said, having the same items every morning gets a bit boring during a longer stay. Toast bread was tasteless, stale white squares, although other bread items are available. There were delicious mini pain au chocolats one morning, cinnamon pastries on several occasions and stale-ish mini croissants every day. Would have liked to have fruit salad (there was some on my first morning, so maybe it's only served at weekends), and fruit items like bananas, strawberries etc. No idea why Hotels.com now describe my booking as with "free breakfast" as I paid extra to include breakfast.
