Hotel Hvolsvöllur
Okay for price.
The room was smaller than the picture suggests, with the bed in the short L-shape portion of the room, leaving little room on either side of the bed. The heavy drapes were positioned in front of the sole source of heat and the drapes lacked any means of easily ensuring the heat entered the room, instead of heating the outside windows. The breakfast buffet offered slightly more options than other hotels. If you have limited mobility, be aware that the hotel did not offer an elevator. While my room was relatively quiet, another couple in my group had a room located just off the stairs and they complained of the noise, so be aware.

Not the best...but you'll live
Service was unfriendly. Toilet wouldn't flush. Free breakfast was truly gross. Cold hot dogs and canned beans? Yuck. They lock the doors to the hotel at night and you have to call security to get let in. Makes me question how safe the location was.

Clean hotel and useful information
The room was clean and the hotel staff were friendly and nice. Gave us some good recommendations of where to eat and what waterfall to checkout.
