Wonderful location, amazing breakfast, friendly
The Seacrest folks were very friendly and helpful; I'd emailed in advance to get information about parking etc and they even told us about a discount on a local restaurant. When our key didn't work the front door they promptly lent us another. Its an old historic building and the owner is passionate and knowledgeable about its history. The leather couches in the front room have seen better days but that is because they sit in a sunlight area. Do be aware that its hard to insulate old buildings; the bass thumping of party music kept me up past 1 am; to be fair it was a Saturday and there were kids roaming and calling to each other outside. Thankfully my kids are older or its would be a real bummer for youngsters trying to sleep. The noise is not at all under the hotel's control. Unfortunately we visited before main season, I guess, and their bar/food service wasn't available. What was available was an amazing breakfast - absolutely delicious full English or salmon/egg/toast or a great cold service with fruit etc.. The breakfast area was lovely - gas fireplace, sunlight and cheery. We loved the location and walked the waterfront for hours, again the D Day Museum and Castle were closed which we didn't realize, but the fortifications were interesting. We only spent a day and a half in Portsmouth, mainly at the Naval History area which was amazing. In summary, a wonderful place with friendly people. We will come back, and stay at the Seacrest for sure.

Wonderful hotel and staff
Loved the Seacrest Hotel. We live in the USA but unfortunately had to return to the UK for the funeral of a close family member. We had a long and tiring journey and had asked if possible could we get our rooms a little earlier so we could get some much needed sleep. We arrived at the hotel at 10 am after a night flight and tough journey through London. The staff were warm and welcoming. They had our rooms ready for us to go into which was so appreciated. The rest of our family arrived the following day and we were all impressed with the hotel, the staff, food, rooms and views. Would recommend 100% and hopefully will visit again under better circumstances.

The Seacrest hotel is convenient positioned in the Southsea area of Portsmouth only a ten min taxi ride from the train station. There are lots of things to do in the locality whether you want to dine out or take a hovercraft ride to the Isle of Wight. The hotel itself is clean and tidy with good facilities such as a bar and lounge. The staff are very friendly and helpful and thanks especially go to Julie and Carmen for their hospitality. An excellent stay and would definitely return to this hotel again.
