Tahoe Get Away
Fun filled Tahoe escape. If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel to rest between activities, Alpine Inn is perfect. Parking is available but limited.

bare bones older hotel
This is an older hotel so I don't know where the "Spa" could come from. There is a pool. It is clean but old. The bathroom is small with not counter to put your things. The price is right for a business traveler

Couldn't get heater to work. Owner brought up electric heater. No one ever answered desk phone when I called from room. Went down stairs to turn in key, had questions, there was sign in lobby, just leave your key. I called out for someone, no one ever responded. While waiting, I heard person leaving message, how they had been trying to get in touch with the hotel for a while, and they are not getting no one to answer phone. Guess this hotel is only good for internet booking only.

Perfect location, cheap enough, but LOUD.
Started rocky, I tried calling the motel literally 15 times over a 5 hour time span and didn't get an answer (we had to edit our reservation). When we checked in they said it was because their phone line was connected to their internet and the internet was down. That didn't make sense to me, though, because it rang through every time I called. But after that initial hiccup, everything was fine. The room was clean and plenty large for two people. We were in room 118, corner bottom floor. Largest gripe I have is that the walls are paper thin. We could hear everything the people upstairs were saying and every footstep they took ALL NIGHT. But for $50, its perfect location. Walk to casinos, Heavenly village, and the beach. Tons of places to eat around it. Just bring a sleep aid if you're a really light sleeper.

Even for the price this is not a great place
Heater was broken, Hair dryer broke (but was promptly replaced with a working one), but the bed was comfy enough. They do not replace your towels or their toiletries for a multiple night stay. Walls are paper thin and the windows open into the courtyard so if you're near a loud family they will wake you up repeatedly. Breakfast was pretty terrible - little variety and the "hot water" was not even sort of hot enough to make oatmeal. Pool looked clean and nice as did the hot tub, but I did not get into either. The street you're on is okay but looks out toward the back of Harvey's chain link fence - you're walking distance to all the casinos, heavenly village and the South Lake Tahoe Airporter (which drops at the back of Harvey's - kitty corner to Alpine Inn). Unless you need to save money - I'd recommend staying elsewhere (or even next door at Basecamp).
