We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and came back for another night after a 3-day tour, and were greatly impressed by the customer service of this hotel. Just before coming to Cusco, my friend fell into the water by accident. We asked the staff if they had extra hairdryers for the wet clothes as we arrived and they offered us free laundry service after learning about her accident! The next day, we ordered room service for dinner and our server, Francisco, was very kind to offer us muna tea and oxygen tanks to use in our room after learning that we were having altitude sickness. On the next morning as we were leaving for the 3-day tour, we tried to discuss with our tour guide who came to pick us up from the hotel on how we can change our hiking plan as we were not feeling quite well. One of the hotel staff patiently helped us with all the translations as we could not speak Spanish with the tour guide. Buffet breakfast was awesome with a great variety of food. We had dinner at the hotel's restaurant too and liked the food - this was one of the best meals during our 2-week stay in Peru! Francisco was very helpful in introducing the local food and we were happy with his passion and attention to details for customers. Other than that, location of this hotel is good, just 20 minutes' walk to the main plaza. They also have free shuttle to the airport which saved us trouble in finding a taxi. All in all, I strongly recommend anyone who visits Cusco to stay at Sonesta :)

Very Good 8.0
What makes this hotel great is the people. Special thanks to the Guest Relation Staff, Mr Willington. As we cant speak Spanish, he helped us get good driver and passed the instruction accurately to the driver. Also he asked for our feedback regarding the driver when he saw me the next day. On the last day when we left for airport, he told us to contact him or hotel if there is any language barrier on the way to the airport. Lastly, kudos to one of the waitress at the breakfast place, she remembered that I need hot water (due to the cool weather in Cusco) on the 2nd day, as I requested that on the 1st day of breakfast. Great service with personal touch. Hope the Hotel management value all these great staffs.

One of The BEST!
I have stayed at many hotels and was blown away by the level of service this hotel provides. They are very friendly, professionaly and attentive to all of their guests needs. From the guy that opens the door, to the front desk, to the refreshment center to the restaraunt to the bell staff to the bar and lobby employees - they all are watching and anticipating your needs I was working on my lap top at a table and it was a little dark but I didn't mind and about 10 minutes later the lights got brighter and I looked over at the front desk and the lady smiled at me and gave me thumbs up. Just a small example of making sure your stay is pleasant. If I could rate highter for hotel staff I would.

Could be a great hotel BUT
Could be a great hotel BUT there are several reasons why I won't recommend the hotel. 1. The jacuzzi jets were dirty. And the button was broken. When I called the hotel reception telling them I don't know how to turn it off - they offered me to send a person to the room (when I am in the tub?). 2. The stuff don't speak english well. I would expect it from such an expensive hotel. 3. They let some locals sell FAKE ALPACA cloths in the lobby! FAKE ALPACA is a big problem in Cusco already, but WHY would such a "good" hotel let this happen on its own premise? People who stay there can afford to buy REAL alpaca clothes, and my wife and I felt betryed by the hotel when we later found out that the things we bough are FAKE SYNTHETICS items. What a shame.

Great, modern hotel - walking distance to Plaza
Fantastic hotel. Stayed with a friend of mine, and we are both in our early 20s. Doorman opens the door and porters carry your bags. Rooms were clean and made up after each day, and there was even chocolate/cookies on our bed each night! The maids also organized our toiletries and wound up our phone charging cords. The breakfast was included and DELICIOUS, offering classic American favorites and local Peruvian specialties, while also catering to a more European style (charcuterie, etc.). There was always tea in the lobby, and the staff is very helpful and accommodating. For example, we stayed 3 nights with Sonesta, then were leaving for our Inca Trail hike, and would not be returning to stay at the same hotel afterward....but since we purchased chocolates during our stay and needed them to remain un-melted, Sonesta graciously let us keep them in a refrigerator while we were on the hike, then we retrieved them without a problem upon returning. Luckily, we had no issues that needed to be addressed, but I'm sure that they would handle them generously.
