Lovely stay in London!
We were often out of the room sightseeing, but when we were there, it was very comfortable and quiet. Close to all forms of transportation and very helpful staff.

It's London but I was hard to accept saying so much for an inferior product. Location was good.

Good inexpensive short stay hotel
The Somerset is an older hotel that shows its age. But it is suitable because old doesn't mean bad or dirty. There is no lift, but they will carry your luggage up if you need. My room faced the street so there was noise. For me, that comes with the territory, it is London afterall, so I found it acceptable. Everything in the small room worked. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Bottom line, for that price in that location, I'd stay again.

Ridiculous
With one day, no water running and my final morning I needed to take a shower for a meeting there was no hot water so could not shower you can see my frustration. Manager was not on site so I asked for the email address so I can see how they could compensate me, they refused to get back in contact with me. Will never stay there again!!

Could be better
The room was clean and certainly spacious, but it was very basic. The carpets were worn and the floor in the stairwell was damaged, and it seemed it had been that way for some time as the carpet was wearing down around the damage. There were also tears in the wallpaper. There was a flat screen TV in the room, but it was far too small for the size of the room. The beds were clean but the matresses were lumpy and uncomfortable. We had to ask for toilet tissue (there was none in the bathroom when we first arrived) and we had to ask for a couple of drink glasses as there were none in the room. We chose the hotel for its proximity to a major Underground station and that it offered breakfast included in the price. However, the breakfast was very limited (make your own tea or instant coffee, white bread only for toast with margarine, and a choice of cereal). The management were certainly polite and friendly and provided us with what we asked for, we just felt that it was not worth what we had paid. We probably will not stay here again, regardless of its convenient location.
