It is 8 miles from Fort William and require a ferry. I did not check the location before booking. It locates in a quiet and nice village, and view is really enjoyable, I really enjoy the stay. The BREAKFAST IS AMAZING! they offered fish, which are really tasty. I love them!!! The staff is really friendly and room is cute and nice, the view is great! The reminder is that the hotel really locates in a village with only one Inn and nothing else ( no grocery store, or other place to buy stuff.) So check the location before you book and be prepared. It is a really quiet place to enjoy peace.

Lovely location, but you need to take the ferry
Be aware that you really need to use the ferry service to access this location. We hadn't realized that when we first booked, but in the end it made our stay far more interesting. We drove around the Loch the first night rather than use the ferry. We loved the hour long drive, but it was pretty stressful - even though it is an 'A' class road, there are many miles of single track road with passing places, which means you'll be lucky to average 30 mph and make it difficult for the driver to admire the surrounding views! The accommodation itself is generally very good. There was a smell in the corridor to the bedrooms which we couldn't work out was because of the harbor (which is across the road) or a dampness issue. Don't let it put you off though, the rooms themselves seem free of the smell and had everything you need for your stay. It's a pretty unique experience to be sleeping a stone's throw from the ferry terminal with a lovely view of the Loch and harbor from the room window. The hosting family seemed very conscientious and attentive, and the Inn itself offered a reasonable place to eat in the evening. We stayed in 13 hotels over 3 weeks and this was the only location that required payment locally - everywhere else allowed me to prepay which was I find much more convenient.

Nice place in a tiny town
We arrived while the proprietors were short-staffed, so they were a bit flustered as we got settled. Rooms are clean, though definitely a bit dated. They could use a little TLC to freshen the appearance a bit. That said, we really enjoyed our stay. We used their laundry service, which was quick and cheap. The bar was good for a drink, with a decent scotch selection. One annoyance was the 6am wake-up with the siren from the ferry landing right across the street. Fortunately, we were planning a very early departure, but it may not be well-received by those wanting a late wake-up. Benefit for us was we literally timed our departure by watching the ferry from our window.

Excellent experience. Very friendly staff, comfortable beds, kids loved the mazelike nature of the inn. Took the ferry across to it which was fun.
