Beautiful Hotel - Wrong time of year to visit
I hve stayed many times at the Kempinski and it's in the top hotels for quality in central Bangkok, with a fantastic locations connected to Siam Paragon shopping Mall. This is the first time I have stayed during the Christmas and New Year Period and had something of an unpleasant stay. I'm afraid no matter how perfect and beautiful the rooms / grounds the other guests made it an uncomfortable experience. I am aware that Christmas is a peak time for families, but with my room price ranging from 300 - 400 a night I thought this might limit the amount of families. I think instead what happened is that large families end up sharing small rooms in order to enjoy the facilities. End result, noise! Endless noise! It seems the vast majority of children were sub 5 and this meant lots of running, shouting and screaming. The other issue I had failed to take into acccount is the new year parties. So one side of me I had a famile of 4, the other a room full of 'partying gay guys' who had come to visit the New Year 'white party' which takes place over a period of 4 days. So stuck between screaming children and loud banging music with 'high' guests. It's difficult to know what the hotel could have done, it's very hard to deter 'anti social guests'. I suppost the only things they might consider is (1) limiting the number of people allowed to share a room. (2) patroling a little more carefully the coridoors for noise. If it wasn't prepaid would have checked out early.

An Oasis in the Frenetic Energy of Bangkok
From arrival, check in, first room look, the 17th floor executive lounge, to cocktails at the Niche, to conversations with staff we were impressed. Felt genuinely welcomed upon arrival, checkin was smooth and quick, the lobby is spectacular, great live jazz at the lobby bar, gorgeous pool surrounded by the hotel wings. Our room - a standard king size was roomy, well appointed, terrific balcony view of the courtyard and pool. Drawbacks: we struggled to turn on/off the lights selectively - only the master switch would work - we should have called for help. Breakfast - as included with the room seemed shoehorned into a too small space given the demand and the large selection. Seemed to try to be al things to all clientele and missed out on a key aspect of breakfast for a significant part of their clientele (us included) the coffee service stank. We'd have liked to have had a coffee thermos pot set at the table with a pitcher of either cold or warm milk. No option. We had to order individually (although included in breakfast price). Took forever to get the coffee and one time it was iced coffee, another it was tepid/cold lattes. Couple that with the small - ish cup sizes and we were frustrated. We love coffee in the morning and love being able to just sip and take our time with breakfast while on vacation. Hard to relax with so much energy in the room, not to mention getting up to get food courses we had to squeeze our way around tables, around customers and staff.

Very Good 8.0
We have a bad experience at the restaurant Europa, one of the staff of that restaurant treated us very bad attitude and tell us loudly that no reservation as we have six people but only 4 people came earlier for the breakfast and the other 2 will come later. We like to sit together so we reserve one table with 2 seats next to our 4seats table. My 2 friends been to swimming and late coming, he came third times in asking us if the 2 friend is coming. However, at the third time he treated us very rude in asking us loudly that how about my 2 friend is coming or not. Although hotel has already sent us apology but i would like to raise up our bad feeling at that moment.

Exceeds my expectations
It was our 14th Anniversary on the first day of our check-in. The hotel staff tried their best to arrange us to be in the same level as another family whom we were travelling with. They were very flexible and accommodating in making arrangements. We felt very welcomed. The staff at Kids Club were professional and confident in running the centre. We feel very safe leaving our children in the Kids Club for a few hours. The children were entertained and it was such a great facility in the hotel. A very big draw for staying here. The hotel is also linked to Siam Paragon and from there we can link to Siam Centre, Siam Square and MRT station. Very convenient. Location is ideal for those who likes shopping. The hotel also offers buggy service to bring us from the hotel to nearby shopping centres. The staff were well-informed and were able to give proper directions. They also made us feel so good and welcomed in Bangkok. The hotel breakfast were fantastic. The local noodle was surprisingly appetising. Must-try for everyone.

Over rated - Kempinski
For the price of Siam kepinski I could stay at a true luxury hotel that I felt relaxed in. I got a 2 bedroom suite and it was crowded, dark, furniture was damaged and The view was terrible. I felt so uneasy in the room. The check in desk was overwhelmed with travellers. The breakfast area had to be extended to a random space that was carved out in the hallway and the kids room wasn’t that impressive (reason why I booked it). I ended up moving out and got 2 rooms at the peninsula hotel for a price that was less than Kempinski. I also stayed at the oriental residence the same weekend and for half the price it was still way better than Kempinski. The only great thing was that it was next to paragon but the mall is overly crowded so if ur only there to shop then it’s super convenient.
