About Arena Copacabana Hotel, Rio de Janeiro

Modern hotel and restaurant on Rio's Copacabana Beach

By Copacabana sands

You're steps from the center of famed Copacabana Beach, able to stroll through sun-worshipers, grab a drink from a kiosk and get panoramic views of the bay from Fort Copacabana at the beach's end. Adjacent Avenida Atlântica offers lots of little bars and street-stall vendors.

Rio's iconic Jesus statue

For a break from the often chaotic Copacabana, a 15-minute walk brings you to the quiet, tree-shaded Edmundo Bittencourt Square. A 25-minute drive delivers you to the world-famous Corcovado, with the iconic statue of Jesus overlooking the city from the top of the mountain.

Breakfast, beach views

After breakfast at the hotel, you might drop by the rooftop pool and its bar overlooking the beach. You can work out at the fitness center before giving yourself a gastronomic reward at the herb-inspired eatery Fennel, which comes with beach views from floor-to-ceiling windows.

Local Carioca decor

Arena Copacabana Hotel's 135 guestrooms display indigenous Carioca-style decor, and offer escape from the beach bustle with noise-reducing windows. Work spaces come with ergonomic chairs, and you can check your email using the free WiFi or grab a snack from the minibar.

Look forward to returning
The staff was great as they understood and spoke English very well; they knew things we needed before we asked. The room was spacious and comfortable with a fabulous view of the beach and strip. From the rooftop view we enjoyed just sitting and having a drink and taking in the view. The statue of Christ on the mountain was visible from the roof also. And again the staff was amazing, going out of their way to make sure we were happy and comfortable during our stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Arena Copacabana! The staff is friendly and accommodating. The hotel is very clean, quiet, and has great views, both from the rooms and the roof (we upgraded our room to "ocean view" and highly recommend it). Location is great, the beach is right across the street, many restaurants and shops within walking distance, and the metro is only 4 blocks away which gives you fast and cheap access to other parts of the city. The breakfast spread is unbelievable! So many things to try, both healthy and indulgent. In addition, there's an entire table dedicated just to sweet dishes like cakes, flan, homemade donuts, and many other delights. We'll definitely stay here on our next trip to Rio!
