I would eat or drink their. would never tell anyone to stay their. The room that they gave me #12 couldn't take a shower in the morning. The shower door turn the wrong way went into the shower livers, When you got into it couldn't close the door and I'm average built. The noise out side you couldn't sleep. The street noise and the sound coming from the train station all night long.. Also could here the little kid next door cry most of the night. Like I said never would stay in this hotel again, Or tell anyone else to stay their.

Gret affordable place to stay
This is a great hotel across the street from Central Station. The staff is very helpful. The food was good, portions huge and beer is cold.

Not worth the savings
Pros: -Decent room, nice bathroom. - conveniently located across the street from central station which means you are minutes away from attractions in the city. - double panes windows keep all the street noise out Cons: - Cockroaches on the first two nights, after complaining our room smelled like Raid the next nights, then cockroaches were back the last 2 nights. It clearly wasn't an isolated incident. - No shampoo. I don't expect shampoo at hostels, motels, or inns. But I do expect shampoo at a hotel. - Mediocre service. The manager seemed annoyed that we asked him to figure out why the safe wasn't working. One day all the towels were gone. - No hotel service at night. The hotel is on top of a popular pub and hotel service at night is provided by the pub bartenders. If the bartenders are busy and the day crew forgot to leave you towels, you better have some time to wait. I'm not sure how allows this accommodation to be advertised as a "hotel."

You'll love this great small hotel
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Royal Exibition. The staff went out of their way to assist us with our questions and to make sure we had a comfortable stay. We truly hated to depart as it was beginning to feel like home for us. Not only do we hihly recommend it, but whenever we return to Sydney, we shall definitely book back with Chris and Joanne. Unlike the expensive and large hotels where you are just a number, we were treated like family. Plus the convenience of Central Train Station and purchasing an Opal transportation card made travel easy and afforadable. You'll love this neighborhood pub hotel and all the great restaurants closeby. But best of all was the staff...

Bad Service
I called ahead to pay for our room and put it on a second credit card. The woman who answered the phone for some reason decided to charge card #1, not #2, as I asked her right then to do. She instantly admitted to me what she had just done, despite me having just told her to charge card #2 and having given her the card number. She refunded card #1, charged card #2. By the time I checked in, the refund for card #1 had been issued, but the Australian dollar had taken a hit, so I was refunded about $50 CAD less. I told the woman who checked us in (same woman who messed up) about it, she said talk to the manager. I did the next day, and he implicitly accused me of lying, saying something like the woman who messed up "has a different story of what happened." Basically, according to him, I had concocted some crazy plan to have them charge and refund a credit card so that I was able to lose $50. Sure. That sounds totally logical. He also decided not to settle the problem then and there, and tried to get me to show up to the hotel at 6pm to talk with the woman who messed up plus a second manager. I said, "no, I'm on vacation." He blew me off for the remaining five days I was at the hotel. Finally, on the last day, the second manager said call your bank; it's not our problem. I don't really understand why the managers thought this was the best way to handle this: their employee messed up, and the problem got passed on to me. I left the hotel really frustrated after a six-night stay.
