"Wake Up Sweaty"
Terrible stay from start to finish. Be aware that this hotel is terribly understaffed. The staff which are there seem to be worked flat out. We were given what I can only describe as an 'attic room' which was roasting hot. With only two small windows and a very grotty £9.95 desk fan it was impossible to cool the room. As a result we got zero sleep. One can only image how hot this place must get on hot summer nights. Reception reported that the central heating could not be completely switched off. When we tried to use the bar for food we were advised that food was only being served from 6pm onward - yet their menus and website clearly state that food is served "All day." Food and dirty plates were left piled up on tables inside and out from the dinner service - bear in mind that this was 4 pm. There were no staff available to clear up and no sign of any management to take a grasp of the situation. Our table at breakfast the following morning was so dirty I was actually able to draw a face in the muck. I have emailed then to request a full refund but they have not responded. They advertise as 4* but that's nonsense. 2* at best and they shouldn't be asking any more that £35 - £40 per room.

Generally a good experience would use hotel again
Our visit to the hotel was good, very comfortable, staff friendly and helpful. Food - evening meals good choice and very nice. However breakfast not so good as not everything was on display in the dinning area and had to ask for items such as marmalade, toaster not working on one day - cooked breakfast good.

one night in Yeovil for a show
got to room to find there was no toilet roll in the bathroom. Rang down to reception, they said they would bring one up, but it didnt happen in an hour so had to use toilet in the bar downstairs before we went out. Went to a show at Octagon theatre nearby, came back to horrendous noise from disco in the conservatory from a wedding party. Didnt know that was on, Thump thump music went on till 11.30, our room no 12 was directly above it. Friends staying in the adjoining building, The Stables had a quiet night

Avoid this one
We unfortunately stayed at this hotel 10-11 Feb 18. What a mistake. Horrendous room. The website photos are really nice and this was one of the factors that made me choose the hotel, it’s a pity the reality doesn’t live up to the photos. We had room 30 in the attic. Some would say it was quaint, I would say it was claustrophobic. The ceilings are low and sloping. No good if you are over 5.10 tall. It was a cold night outside but even with the radiator off, the window open full and a fan on all night, it was stifling and uncomfortable. Upon our arrival I had to go and ask for toilet paper as there was on 5 sheets left of the roll in the room. The décor is well out of date. It’s woodchip. The furniture is damaged and the cleanliness terrible, looking at the dirt at the side of the wardrobe I suspect it hasn’t seen a cleaner since the wardrobe was put there. I was too scared to move any of the other furniture for fear of what I’d see. The bathroom was dirty in places; we had to clean the hairs out of the bath before we could us it. The hot water disappears when other guests turn on their taps. I kept reminding myself ‘it’s only for one night’
