A tad bit away from town
Two seniors on a road trip from California spent four nights at the Hotel Noir in York, UK. We have a car and were able to find a space in the hotel lot which holds about 7-8 cars. Our room was on the 3rd floor and there is no lift but hotel staff helped get our luggage upstairs. Being older we probably should have asked for a room on a lower floor. The room was fine, facing the back so quiet. The bathroom was not too large, and, as we have experienced with most hotels in the UK, there is not enough counter space or bars to hang towels in the bathrooms, nor a shelf in the shower to put soap on and that was true here too. Wi-fi worked well. Our rate included breakfast and there is definitely a variety to choose from, cold and hot. For lunch or dinner, food is available in the dining room.. The pub next door mainly serves Indian food so there is not a lot of choice in the area besides there and the hotel. The hotel is a good mile from the Munster so we often ate before returning in the evening. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times.

Very good place to stay in York U.K.
Very happy with 4 nite stay at the hotel. Close to the train station and city center. Great food at hotel restaurant and mini bar was complemental. Staffs are very pleasant. No problem with changing to a larger room. Very clean with fresh paint. I recommend highly.

Birthday bash..
Friendly helpful staff. Well located with onsite parking. Comfortable warm room. Unfortunately food and drink rather expensive.. £11 for breakfast each..bit much... but alternatives such as the pub next door £6.75 Enjoyable stay..

Couldn’t be happier!
I cannot begin to describe how amazing our stay at Hotel Noir was. We were offered a room upgrade when we got there and were so glad we took it, the room was absolutely beautiful - I’m pretty sure we’ll be dreaming of that 4 poster bed and huge bath tub for the next few weeks! Not only was our room beautiful, and the hotel very clean, the staff were amazing throughout our visit. A few issues came up but they were quickly and professionally resolved, even with a few complimentary drinks as an apology! It’s a little out of the way to get to, but only took us 10 minutes to walk into the Center of town. I can confirm we’ve come away from our weekend trip not only huge fans of York, but also huge fans of Hotel Noir! You better believe you’ll be seeing us again in the future!
