My husband and I loved the location of this hotel. It is just a few steps from excellent restaurants, shops, and coffee shops. To call it a hotel seems wrong because while it appears to be a remodeled hotel with outside doors opening to the parking lot, it is precious and it is very well done with special touches that create a true boutique stay. There is plenty of outdoor seating, the rooms are just the right size for 2 adults, everything was clean, and the staff are so helpful and kind. It is right on Carteret Street, so the traffic going to and from the bridge can be bothersome. However, we did not mind it at all and barely noticed it. We will definitely be back!

Last minute stay in downtown beautiful Beaufort SC was not a disappointment. Our stay at The Loft was a pleasant surprise and experience. From the Exceptional hospitality at check in….the room was fresh, clean with an updated bathroom featuring a very large shower and modern soaking tub. A special surprise were the plush robes. The beds were very comfortable as well. The on site coffee shop that doubled as a bar was a treat as well! I was surprised to see that this is a converted motel and rooms were walk ups. I must not have noticed this when looking for a place to stay in Beaufort. One thing I do not do is stay in a walk up due to safely. Despite this, the hotel was nicely renovated and the staff was very nice. They gave us coupons to their coffee/ cocktail spot and left homemade cookies on our door at night which was a nice touch. They also give access to Cat Island Club which is also a nice benefit. A little noisy next to the road but situated in a great location.
