Pleasant stay
Very pleasant stay in a quaint old hotel, but in newly renovated rooms in some outbuildings. My only minor complaint is that the beds were on the soft side, but this seems to be the current style with English beds since all three of our hotels/B&Bs had the same sort of bed. One nice touch; the room had both complimentary tea and biscuits; a welcome on arrival after a long road trip.

Great Hotel; Outstanding Location and Winelist
We needed a jump-off point, after an overnight flight, for a trip through the Cotswolds. We also wanted to see Waddesdon Manor, a Loire-Valley style Rothschild-built chateau in the English country side. So this hotel, located on the Waddesdon Manor property was perfect. Our room in the annex was very comfortable. The restaurant for dinner and an English breakfast the following morning was efficient and the food was excellent. The hotel has an outstanding list of available Rothschild wines!

Lovely traditional hotel
The hotel and its gardens were gorgeous. I got upgraded to a suite which was a lovely surprise and very comfortable albeit 'traditional' - I'm more of a contemporary, gadget geek kind of girl. The service was outstanding, everyone went out of their way to be helpful and friendly, and the restaurant would be worth a visit even for non residents. Free parking always a bonus. Sat Nav took me around the houses (or rather fields) to get there, so check out your route beforehand, there seemed to be no need to stray from the A roads to get there.

Splash out for best rooms away from the road
We wanted to go to Kate Malone show at Waddesdon Manor and this place is ideal. Stayed once before and the room was nice but noisy due to the main road (A41) being right outside the venue. This time we splashed out (!) and had a junior suite which is in a row of converted outbuildings behind the main hotel/restaurant. Magic. Room was spacious and quiet and really quite a bargain at £140 B&B. Dinner in hotel was pretty good with the only drawback being a very loud elderly waiter who must have thought he was working in a bingo hall. Nonetheless a pleasant stay.
