Very Good8.0
Great location!
This was a unique little hotel, very quiet but difficult to get to! The taxi drops you off at the bottom of a small hill and you have to pull your bags up the path up the steps to the front door. The lady running the hotel is helpful and reasonably good English. The rooms are a little outdated but the beds were comfy. The onsen was relaxing and the place was clean and tidy. Breakfast is a very traditional Japanese one. The location right near the "old" part a few minutes walk. I did find that Takayama was geared for daytime tourists and hard to find somewhere to get a meal and a drink at night!
