A nice place to stay in Austin.
We enjoyed out stay. The staff was very nice, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. I really liked the style of the hotel and thought that the design was very nice. It didn't seem like there were a lot of other people staying there, and it was very quiet. The only negatives were that the light was out in the shower/tub area, and our TV didn't work well (had to be unplugged and plugged back in several times before it would turn on). I pointed both issues out to the front desk when we checked out, and they were sending their maintenance to remedy the issues. We got a really good deal on the room through Hotels.com and used a coupon to get it even cheaper. I'm not sure we could have stayed here at the standard rate.

Mold contamination and dirty conditions throughout
The first night I was put in a room that reeked of mold. An industrial sized dehumidifier was obstructing the entire window area. So clearly they were aware of the mold / water damage and this did not stop them from putting me in this room! I called to switch rooms and after a run-around re: "we don't have any other rooms" I said I'd be leaving the hotel and seeking a refund and somehow a room appeared! It was 9:30pm and this other room had not yet been cleaned and I was told that they'd call when it was ready, at 10:45 still not ready! I finally called again at 12:45 am furious and then the room was ready (?) -- this dump should be shut down.

A seedy place at best
Do NOT STAY HERE. I visit Austin often for business and due to limited availability and the (current) rating for this hotel, we took a chance. We should have read the other reviews on multiple sites first. Upon arrival, we immediately regretted our decision to stay here. The entire hotel smelled of STRONG mildew...so strong it was overpowering at all moments. Our room window frames had rot, the windows were dusty with splats on them (see pictures), the desk chair was beyond worn-out, there was a glob of wet gel substance on our coffee table, our sheets were stained, some lights were burned out and some were hanging out of sockets, all towel hangers were loose. While we awaited a room change, we read other reviews on diff. sites and nearly all had identical issues and mentioned a room change would not suffice. We were severely disappointed with this hotel and when I told my local friends I was staying here, they ALL chuckled and told us this hotel was known for being very dirty and a mish-mash of disasters. The ONLY silver lining of this place was the front desk staff were nice and at least tried to help us out to no avail while managers and the "GM" looked on from the office behind them. When we spoke to other guests, they were as equally disappointed. We were at a loss as to how this hotel received even decent ratings.
