Great stay with a few areas of improvement
I had a wonderful time with my husband and my family here. The hotel has an elegant, relaxing and private atmosphere. The breakfast was good (not superb), the rooms are extremely clean, the colors are very soothing, and the service was excellent, except for a large, bald man at the reception desk who checked us out the last night. He had an arrogant attitude, the printer broke and didn't seem to know what to do, kept slowly walking back and forth and attending other matters, and the check out took a very long time. The other thing that needs improvement is the call responsiveness at the front desk. It is extremely hard to get your phone calls picked up by reception. Before my trip started I called several times from overseas to ask for an early check in, and once in the hotel, when we called, nobody picked up. In any case, and besides these two minor points, we had a fantastic stay. There was a gentleman at the reception with black hair whose demeanor was absolutely wonderful, professional and went beyond his call of duty to help us make dinner reservations, call cabs and alike.

Dueling jackhammers next door
Our stay at the hotel was very nice. Room was beautiful etc. But we went next door to their sister hotel to use the pool (Sofitel Legend Santa Clara), Some rooms were being renovated , 2 jackhammers in use, with a sledgehammer keeping rhythm. UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!. And a note about noise (loud music), late into the night. Some Colombians like to party, stay up all night , with the music cranked up. If that bothers you, maybe, go to a different country.

Not worth the money
We received a discounted rate, but for the price, we would never go back again. There wasn't an iron or ironing board. We called and never received it after one and a half hours. My wife really wanted to go to this hotel, but for the price, I would have stayed at the Hilton Cartagena. It was nicer with better service and MUCH more amenities. We waited to check in for 2 hours and our room wasn't ready. Pretty sad and breakfast for $54,000 pesos with minimal options..... No thanks...
