Made us feel special!
We loved this hotel and would highly recommend it for a downtown Chicago stay. Excellent service from the podium at the door to the desk staff to the maid and room service staff! We had a Junior Suite and it was so spacious and clean, also felt luxurious and restful. Nice view of downtown area. We enjoyed a complimentary bottle of wine in the room and then checked out the nice Happy Hour. Everything we did was within walking distance. Wished we could have tried out the pool but they were wrapping up some work while we were there. We ordered breakfast via room service and everything arrived fresh and hot. When we got there I ordered a couple suitcase stands and a coffeemaker for the room, and was promptly delivered. We loved this Hotel, it has a great vibe!

I’ve stayed at several Kimtpons, and I think this has been my least favorite. The hotel itself is great in location, but it seems a little outdated and could be a lot cleaner. During our stay, the lobby had caught on fire and we had quite a rude awakening for the morning with all the sirens, repeated intercoms notices, and thus not having a lobby area for our entire stay. The lobby is quite small and awkward. As for the room, they were standard. We had a connecting room with a couple of friends. Our room lacked a coffee maker and umbrella, which was provided for our friends’ room. The view was nice. However, my main issue was with how loud it was while we were in our room. We had stayed an extra night apart from our friends in the connecting room. The next morning, the occupant that had taken the room next to us (after our friends had checked out), had an alarm on his phone that was snoozed over two hours and he had a business call which he was yelling during and we could hear the entire thing and got woken up several hours earlier than we would’ve wanted. We could also hear every door being opened in the hallways and all the staff members talking too. Overall, it was a decent stay. I guess I expect a higher quality to Kimpton hotels, and this was subpar compared to my experiences with other Kimptons. Everyone was very nice and welcoming, the location is great, and they had really good cookies provided as we were leaving. Those would be the highlights.

Perfect place to stay in River North!
We love staying at the Kimpton! The location is right in the heart of River North but close enough to the river to get down into downtown. The staff is courteous and welcoming. The bar Sable is great for a late night drink before heading upstairs. Highly recommend.

Great hotel, about $30 ride from Midway Airport. Comfortable, spacious room and great bar. We had a meeting at the hotel and everything was great.
