Smallest Room Ever
I booked the suite style room with a view. When I arrived I was offered a suite or a view. I chose the view and the room was ridiculously tiny. The upside is the friendly staff.

uncomfortable bed
the staff was really nice but the bed was old and uncomfortable. I also found a pair of dirty sucks which lead me to know that they don't clean their rooms that well. I also hated that room service for food wasn't 24/7. with the prices the where charging for the room I should have just stayed at the Standard in the East Village.

This place would get a solid 4 for a business hotel at the price point -- rooms are clean and comfortable and check in is easy and efficient -- but they seem to be cutting corners on human resources causing problems in the delivery of basic services. At 4:15 am the battery of the fire alarm right near the bed starting chirping extremely loudly due to a low battery; one would expect batteries to be changed on a regular schedule to avoid this. To make up for it, the hotel comped me my breakfast. But at 7am, when the breakfast area opened, the staff were still in the middle of set up; so the breakfast omelette station had no one available to cook for the first fifteen minutes. The staff who were available are to be commended for their attentiveness and great service. Everyone I met was gracious and helpful. The problem is not with the staff that are there, but those who are not.
