Charming hostel a bit out of the way
We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay at Hour Glass. Everyone was courteous and the room was exactly what was advertised - reasonably priced and comfortable. The location is a bit out of the way, but it gave us a chance to experience London like someone who lives there.

Comfortable, but be aware of surroundings
This is a hotel with shared bathroom and shower facilities, sitting above a bar, in a somewhat sketch part of town. The price was awesome, and the staff was very friendly and pleasant, but you certainly get what you pay for. Fortunately, our stay was uneventful, aside from the loud carrying on and laughter late into the night from the bar below. If that's ok, then you'll be good to go, it's just good to be aware of these things beforehand. Also, it is quite far from any underground train stations, so get familiar with the buses in the area.

Good stay, friendly staff, good location
Overall great stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. Nice English pub downstairs with cheap drinks. Neighborhood isn't the greatest but we felt very safe. Some outside noise in the late hours but nothing too bad. Good location to get to everything touristy. The bus stops right in front of the hotel which made it very convenient getting around. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to save some money.
