Metropolis Hotel, Athens
just good location
location is good, hotel is run down. My room was tiny and sheets and towels were not in good shape. It says A/c but I had none. I would not stay there again. this is Jayne Gomes, Eugene died in 2013.

The stay at Metropolis Hotel was accommodating, however, I was disappointed with the price that I had to pay as I paid for 3 persons even though it was only for myself. I could not find a room available for one person on the dates I wanted and thus had to book for 3 persons. When I booked, I chatted online and was told that I could make changes once I arrived. When I arrived, I was informed that I could not make any changes in room and in price as I had booked with a third party and not with directly. I did not think that was fair. Also, for the price that I paid, I should have breakfast included which was not the case at all. Any reimbursement would be greatly appreciated. Thanking you kindly.

Terrific staff, great location, just book!
This hotel was perfectly located, the staff were super friendly and easy going, and the view from the roof was awesome. We were totally satisfied. It’s not a fancy hotel - the room is small and basic, but I don’t go on vacation to hang in the room when I can be out experiencing a new place. The sheets were clean and fresh for sleeping, the AC worked great, and having a balcony to relax on was an extra lovely perk - that’s all I need! Add on top that there’s a decent breakfast with a cook who will make you fresh eggs if you ask, and you can’t go wrong! Just stop looking and stay here and have a great time in Athens. (Bring sunscreen! And a hat!)

Great hotel, Service Needs Help
I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Metropolis, however, I recommend coaching your reception staff on how to speak to guests, especially women. I felt that the gentleman who worked the front desk during the afternoon and evening was not very nice nor very welcoming. He frequently spoke down to me as if I was a lesser human and he acted like my IQ was less than that of an ant. It got to the point where I thought about switching my reservation because I did not feel like dealing with him. If I was someone who had any sort of anxiety disorder I would have not been able to stay at this hotel and deal with him. Your hotel is very nice, so I would hate to see people not stay here because of one man's attitude.

While not the most luxurious hotel, the metropolis hotel in athens offered us everything we could want for our quick little layover in this city. It has a prime location, lovely staff and clean, comfortable rooms. I would recommend this hotel to all my friends.
