A great classy hotel, well above expectations
This small independent hotel is an excellent place to stay for a week or so, while visiting the sights in Amsterdam. The location is in a quite upscale neighborhood, which is a short walk to the tram stop. Once at the tram stop you can get anywhere in Amsterdam that you can imagine. The staff is quite helpful and totally friendly. While there isn't a restaurant on site (but they do have a full breakfast for an extra fee, if that's your preference), Amsterdam has so many wonderful places to eat that it would seem that one would want to go sample as many as possible. While the rooms were on the small side, it was ample for our 12 day stay. I didn't have any idea of which area would be best, but after reading the guide books warning about noisy students up all night, and crowded over-priced tourist areas, this seemed a superior option. The house keeping staff kept our room very well serviced, better than most upscale higher priced hotels that I've stayed at. All in all, I will definitely look no further if and when am going to stay in Amsterdam again.

Absolutely would stay here again!
This was a very clean hotel with excellent service. The front desk was very helpful and polite. The building is old (Americans should expect this with most hotels in Europe) and this gives it a nice character and charm. The bathrooms are very modern and spacious with a full tub and large vanity. The neighborhood is out enough that you’re not in the center of tourist madness. There are many walkable destinations for shopping and food, and the tram is very close and convenient for getting into the center of the city. I’m pleased I found this place and look forward to staying here again!

Exquisite Boutique Hotel in Amsterdam
Delighted to return once again to Apollofirst Hotel. Perfect location in upscale neighborhood, yet close to Museum district and Amsterdam Center. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and general excellent price/quality ratio.

Appolofirst great find.
We enjoyed our stay. The rooms are lovey, the breakfast fantastic. The help was great. My only negatives are minor. The bathroom needs hooks and towel bars. The hotel is a distance from the city center but the location is worth it. Quiet, stately street. Nice shopping close by and the streetcar is easy to take wherever you want to go.
