    Reservation meaningless
    Claimed to have " lost the reservation " of one member of our party and made her stay at a different nearby hotel. Watch this exact scenario replay with another guest later. I believe they overbook and sent guests to other hotels deliberately

    Tranquil and laid-back and basic
    Isla Holbox is a very laid-back island. Not fancy. No huge resorts. Tranquil. No streets are paved. The transportation / taxis is by golf cart. The hotel was also laid-back with both a small pool (the 2nd, larger one was being refurbished) and a beachfront. No televisions, no phones. The room was clean and very basic. Loved the conch shell shower and sink. The bed was medium as far as comfort. Would have liked a chair in the room so that there was someplace to sit besides on the bed. The front desk staff were quite helpful
