Great hotel, superb service.bad location
The hotel is really grand and really speaks great service. It was the many construction around the hotel that obscure the hotel from view not to mention huge gaping manhole that could be deathtraps . Not the hotel fault but not recommended for those who prefer to walk to nearby shopping center like pavilion during night time or rainfall.only walk during daylight not kidding you about the gaping manholes that about 1.5 -2 metres deep.

Sadly, Downhill Slide
Granted, this hotel has the most spectacular lobby and common areas of any hotel. BUT, you don't sleep in the lobby. I stayed here several times before, but the rooms have really gone downhill. I paid extra for a "premier" room, which was huge, but sparsely furnished with old, worn-out pieces. The hardwood floors are terribly scratched, scuffed, and marred. The carpeted areas are totally worn out and stained. The walls are bare, except for the smallest flat screen TV I've ever seen in a hotel. The room was filthy. During my 5 days there, the floor was never swept or vacuumed. The shower had black mold in it, which wasn't cleaned, and kept growing while I was there! The windows are dirty, there were what appeared to be coffee stains on the wall. It seems housekeeping has no supervision or oversight. Strangely, the elevators and hallways are not air conditioned. It seems the hotel now caters mostly to Chinese package tour groups, who tend to overrun the lobby and buffet. Contrary to other reviewers, the hotel is a good 15 min. walk by 2 construction sites to the shopping mall, or monorail. Sadly, the next time I'll stay at a hotel that spends more on their rooms, and not so much on the lobby!

First family trip to KL
It was our first family trip to KL and we chose to stay for 7 days and 6 nights at The Royale Chulan Hotel KL. Since it is a Fasting Month so we chose not to add the breakfast set. It takes around 10 minutes (walking) from the hotel to the shopping malls and my favourite was Pavilion. Overall, it was a good stay.

bit worn luxury hotel
Really good service from the first minute. The only thing we can put a remark on is that the interior in the hotel is a bit outdated. This does however not bring down the experience at all since since everything else was good.
