good values but past its glory days
Great value with some caveats, but has a lot of potential with some small touches. LOCATION: It's not near the major tourist spots, but is on the beach and has a bus stop to Batu Feringhi or Georgetown right in front. The nearby restaurants are overpriced and mediocre quality food. ROOM: Room was huge with beautiful views, bidet, hair dryer, iron, and good shower. It was clean, however, as with all Penang hotels I stayed in there was a small bit of mold in the bathroom. The wifi was fast and reliable. AMENITIES: The breakfast didn't seem really worthwhile, but having a drink and snacks at the pool was very nice. The small fitness center has free weights and a couple machines. SERVICE: It's worth noting, nearly everyone in the hotel seemed unhappy to work there, or was a bit rude especially at breakfast. I am guessing the management doesn't care about the business or is mistreating the staff. There are a host of modest aesthetic maintenance fixes that would great improve the value of the hotel like repainting the rooms, railings, replacing bad quality CFL lights with LED, varnishing old wood that would would make guests feel like they're staying at a top hotel.

over all was fine, hotel has some urine smell. breakfast was good. Vishnu, the guy works in restaurant was great. Uber or grab was easy and fast to find.
