This was our third time to visit Cradle Mountain and although we love the area, the price is a bit high for the accommodations. We have stayed in the Pencil Pine Cabins previously and this time in a spa cabin. The cabin was very cozy and well decorated but beginning to show it's age. We noticed the roof rafters on the outside are in pretty bad shape and the floor really creaked when walked on. The spa tub needs a good cleaning, did not even consider using it. The shower was great though, plenty of hot water. The bed was comfortable, very nice linens. The balcony was great for critter viewing. We didn't get to use it much, the weather was pretty chilly. Breakfast at the lodge was included, so much to choose from and all delicious. We mostly ate the rest of our meals in the pub. The food was good, although we were disappointed that some items had been removed from the menu from the last time we were there. Still enjoyed it, along with a Boag's draught. No WiFi in the cabins but no problem using it at the lodge. If you're visiting the area it's still a wonderful place to stay.

This is is place to stay at Cradle Mountain
Great place to stay for exploring the Cradle Mountain, very close to the park entrance with shorter hikes around the property. A great place to come back to after a day of hiking. Highly recommended it!

Be sure you get what you pay for
I booked a contemporary spa cabin because i was traveling with my daughter and it offered 2 beds. AND it had a gas fireplace. When we arrived we were told we'd been upgraded. It sure want an upgrade to us. The "upgrade" had 1 bed and we had to carry wood to use a wood stove to heat the cabin. Not fun. And no coffee available in the main lounge until 7am. That's brutal! We didn't automatically get perks that were supposed to come with an upgrade. The front desk explained that was because it was an upgrade. The property is lovely at the edge of the national park and wallabies and wombats can be seen.
