Grand Hyatt Shenzhen, Shenzhen

From HK, stayed for one night, with club lounge access. Check-in was tough, but the staff helped a lot. Info: (Double checked with 2 staff at the front desk) Club Room in here means you have lounge access right and the *PRIORITY* to be assigned on 22/F or above. Arrived at 1pm, staff at front desk told me we (me and parents, 2 rooms) were originally assigned on 9/F, which make no sense to him too. At time, he could give us 1 room on 31/F and the other on 21/F, if I need to access the room immediately. Took the one 31/F and I said I would wait to check-in the 2nd room after official check-in time (2pm), staff replied he would keep checking for high floor. By 4pm I went to the front desk again, that gentlemen was gone and another lady helped me. Explained what happened and she check-ed me in onto 29/F, OK for me. I did not expect Club Rooms in such way (my first time), but staff was helpful and things got handled with happy ending this time. Room was bright and clean. Shower was strong. AC did not react very quick but was OK. Club lounge provided all-day coffee tea and soft drinks. 530 to 830pm is canapes time, which could be your dinner and drinks with the vast dishes offered. Also had breakfast here, a fine selection of enough food. Lounge was spacious, very relaxing. Alcohol at canapes time only, but selection was comprehensive (wine, beer and spirits).

Very friendly staff, eager to help. Spacious room and nice amenities. Convenient location for Metro. Nearest subway is Grand Theatre. Take Exit C MixC shopping Mall. You will be able to get to the hotel courtyard through the mall. If you would like to go to the hotel through outside the mall, take exit F Grand center station exit F. Get out and turn right through the drive way of the parking lot you will hit the a street, cross it and turn left and within n 30 meters you turn right then go straight, pass the Walmart and within 100-150 meters cross the street you will see the sign of Georgio Armani and Tesla show room just pass through you will see Grand Hyatt in the courtyard. Buy 1 day pass and it is way more cheaper and faster to move around. Road traffic is horrible.

I would say this is the best hotel in Shenzhen. From the room, to the commendations, to the cleanliness, to the modern technology. It is located with a spectacular five-star mall in the base of the entrance of the hotel as well as a five-star mall connected with many incredible restaurants. It’s very close to everything. The train station/ the market/everything. It’s amazing. If I had to make one complaint. I would say that the music in the penthouse is way too loud. And the manager refused to lower the music. He actually told me to leave. He’s an absolute idiot and he should be fired. Decides that everything was at 1evel

Heard bell rang then looked via the door peephole, but no one was outside. When heard the second rang and answer the door, the cleaner opened the door suddenly with her door card. She claimed that some welcome fruit was provided, she opened my door because no one answered when the first bell rang. It would be embarrassing if I was in bathroom which is with transparent glass. So, hotel should be supposed to prepare the fruit before I checked in.

Overall a very nice hotel thou a bit shy of 5 star. I really didn't like that not only was my room not available even thou I wasn't an early check-in but in order to not wait a couple of hours I was charged more money to get into a room that was ready, clearly a bait and switch.
