Our stay at night Niagara
My wife and I came to town, to explore Niagara Falls,. We love staying in vintage hotels, if they are worth staying in. The Giacomo, it's worth it. The architecture is great. Very cozy and comfortable rooms. The only two things, we both wished they had. 1- room service till 2am or so. Only breakfast is served. 2- the bar hours, wished they were longer. Only open till 10pm. Would've liked to have come back from the casino and had a night cap. They have, what they call, a sky view lounge. It's an empty room, with chairs and couches. No bar, and the view, from the windows is obscured by old, dirty, scratched up windows. This was a total disappointment. Expected a bar or being able to sit outside. It needs a good old fashioned renovation! We would stay again, it's a really good hotel. Convenient to everything.

What a gem!!
Absolutely a gem of a find. This is an older hotel that might turn some away. The price was very affordable, so we gave it a try for a night away. It was amazing. Parking was across the street with staff providing a numbered spot for us to park. Check-in was very friendly and quick. Hotel room was a little dated, but in amazingly we'll kept shape. We had an huge whirlpool tub with robes included!! Very short walk to the falls. Breakfast was ordered through a selection paper given to us at check-in. Delivered hot the next morning. We had a call to our room 30 minutes after checking in to make sure everything was ok. Wow! Even better, they came around at about 8pm with warm cookies and milk!!! Delivered to each room! Made us feel like royalty. Love this hotel, and we will absolutely stay again if in Niagara Falls.

I just need a clean room.
The first room we were given was unacceptable. There was trash in between the ottomans, there was water on the room phone (which got on my ear! That's how I realized it was wet), and the other phone had hair on it. We went downstairs to complain and ask for a different room that was actually clean. I was totally nice about it. The young man working the front desk had the worst customer skills I've ever come across. He never once apologized, just asked for our room keys. And then, he had the nerve to say, "Did you at least grab the paperwork from the room?" (This is the breakfast request form that has replaced the once buffet breakfast). No, was my answer. It appeared as if he was being inconvenienced by my request to have a clean room - a clean room, a basic expectation of any hotel. We got upgraded to a bigger room. I was glad for that, although my intention was just to get a clean room. Please work on training your staff to provide better customer service.
