Good value
Room and bed were small, but fine for a short stay. Front desk staff was very helpful.

second stay also very good, would stay a third
This has been my second stay at this hotel and it was as good as the first one, with the exception of the in room Wi-Fi that this time was unusable. The hotel is very nice and although it shows as a two star it could very well be a low end three star hotel. Located about a ten minute flat walk from asakusa station means that you are still quite close to more central Tokyo without any of the related noise. Ueno and Akiabara are within walking distance though a bit far. English spoken at the reception at a reasonable level. The room is clean, the bed comfortable, amenities are OK and the bathroom is the kind you find in budget/business hotels throughout Japan, resembles an airplane bathroom but is more than adequate. Again I got a room with a view to the Tokyo skytree. The window opens. There is Wi-Fi in the room but this time it was unusable. Since there was also wired internet in the room I ended using my pocket router to use that instead. No problems once I did that. If you plan on staying in many hotels in Japan one of these tiny routers is a good investment since wired internet access in the room is the norm and wireless the exception, regardless of the hotel's class. Very nice stay for a very good rate. Would gladly stay for a third time I need a good and cheap place to stay in Tokyo again.

smile hotel definitely left a smile on my face.
This hotel was awesome. The room was clean, efficient and a good home away from home. The only " complaint" that I have about this hotel is the distance it is from Tokyo's center. Its a bit far,but very eazy to get to from the hotel. I will definitely go back to smile asakusa again :) !!!

Great hotel for the price
Great hotel. Rooms are much larger than other rooms in Tokyo available at the same price. Staff is very friendly. I asked if they could keep my suitcase for 5 days before my arrival, and they did it at no charge. 10 min walk from Asakusa subway stop and 5 min walk from Asakusa temple.
