Staff and service should step up
1. When we initially had spent 2 nights at the hotel and wanted to extend our stay - so we did. However, the people in the reception was not at all helpful when we simply asked them to move our luggage from one room to another because we were out of the hotel the whole day. They didn’t want to do such a simple thing, but instead made us pack all our stuff and go down in the reception, only to pick up the key for the other room!! That is ridiculous. 2. As for the neighbourhood, there are plenty of restaurants and places you can eat - we wouldn’t recommend trying their breakfast buffet as it is way to pricy and has very little variation. 3. The ‘housekeeping’ knocked on our door at 8.30 in the morning, waking us up from our sleep!! This was addressed to the reception as well, but they just said that it was our responsibility to put the ‘do not disturb sign’ on the door. I have never in my million stays at hotels experienced anything like that. The housekeeping are suppose to clean your room when you are out of the room or at the earliest when check-out (around 12.00/13.00). All in all, the rooms were ok, but the staff was rude and the breakfast was a failure.

Some rooms are excellent while others may be terrible. I had booked a deluxe King Room and when i arrived the person that check me in just gave me room 401. I realized that it was not a king room but i was tired and i slept in. Terrible room. Why that person at the front desk just downgraded my reservation? I had pre-paid for a king size deluxe and i got a single room. This is ZERO stars for that person that made that decision. The room has everything that people complain about (light under the door, noise, smells, tiny window where you could reach a bunch of air-con compressors, lack of ventilation). After a bad night sleep I told staff that i had booked a king room and a different person at the front desk (that the previous day) acknowledged it immediately and moved me to 603. Thank You to the new staff member for doing the right thins. Ok, from hell to heaven. The new room deserves almost a 5 star by given my previous unrequested downgrade i took one star out. If you get a single room like 401, just run. I dont even know how that can be sold. One gets SICK just inside that box with no fresh air to breathe. I will stay again but i will make sure i get what i pay for from the first night. I like to be able to open a window in my room even with the unhealthy CDMX air!

Okay hotel that needs to improve customer service
Hotel is prime area to Walk to everything. However not as attentive to your needs otherwise I would have given it a higher rating. I had problems with the air conditioning and they never send anyone up to look at until the unit got really loud. Then the maintenance guy punctured the refrigerant line and then they moved me at 1 am. I had asked if there were room available to move bc of the AC and told me NO only suits at an additional charge but when the maintenance man punctured the Freon line I came to find out the hotel had high number of vacancies. Mind you I had to get up early in the morning. It would have been nice to move me rooms during the day and I could have had a restful night for my appointment that following morning. Kind of bitter that I did not get rest and had to get up early and the fly back home to the USA extremely tiered. Customer service not the best really only the morning girl that worked on Tuesday 5/29/18 all other staff was great. I would understand if the hotel was really full but when they lie ... it’s not right and then no one came to check the AC earlier before thing got worse.

Exceptional 10.0
Room and daily maintenance very clean, comfortable beds, sheets changed daily and very clean, some people on this site complained about drain smell, well , I didn't find any drain or sour smell ! Concerning chemical smell, I guess they use cleaner or desinfectant that has a somewhat spearmint scent, probably a bit strong for some people, but at least you know that the cleaned ! The only thing, I found is the wardrobe space and shelfs is too small if you stay there 10 days or travel 4 people the pole is like 24 inches wide , so if you want to unpack one luggage and hang pants , shirts etc... you will probably only fit one persons luggage, also there's no door, so if you are a clean freak like me, you won't like to see all your stuff because there's no door. Internet was running at about 65mbps all the time, not the fastest but no issues to connect and never had a bad connection or slowdown. The looby is quite narrow , it gives the impression you're going in to appartement buliding not an hotel, other than that, staff was very nice and location is close to everyting like restaurants , bars, stores, bus and Metro. Overall, because of location, rooms cleanness, comfort and staff I recommend this hotel.

Excellent base hotel next to main tourist hotels
I always stay at this hotel in Mexico City. Great price and next to the main tourist hotel area in the Zona Rosa (mexican version of a SOHO). Almost all the rooms are huge, equipped with kitchenettes (small fridge and microwave), a small living room and huge bathrooms with walk in showers. On this particular trip, I was dissapointed I got one of the renovated rooms, no carpet just tile, no kitchenette, no sitting area and 2 individual beds. Looked like an ordinary hotel room. Pay attention to type of room you book. All rooms are pretty quiet and good drapes to keep it dark. Check in was easy and welcoming. the staff is always very friendly. Location is great, The Angel is 5 minute walk away as is a subway stop. The street itself leads to Little Korea, full of korean restaurants but crossing Florencia is every tourist Mexican and international restaurants you can imagine. You just need step outside and you can instantly hail a cab. An atm and bank is literally located at the entrance to the hotel.
