This is a dormintory! Not a hotel with privatbedss
The hotels.com infotmation said this was a single room for 1, that is one and only one person, that was a not accurate. The rooms are dormintory style with bunk beds with room for 4 people. There are no private rooms. Do not book unless you are OK with sleeping in a room with strangers. The other guest all appeared to be young, college age, which is OK if you don't want to sleep.

Disappointed
The older gentleman at the front desk was very rude during my stay. I think he was the night manager. If I come back to Iceland I will not stay here.

Good Deal in Reykjavik
We stayed for just two nights, but it was nice. The staff was incredibly friendly, and very helpful. The breakfast buffet was good as well. The room was large and comfortable, and we weren't cold at all overnight. There was only one male/female bathroom for our floor, but it wasn't a problem. I only had to wait for the bathroom once, otherwise it was pretty empty. The shower pressure in the ladies' room was low, but I could wash off fine. (The water did smell a little like sulfur, but that's not too uncommon on that side of the Atlantic, so just be warned.) It was about a 40-50 minute walk to downtown Reykjavik, and the view was lovely the whole way, so the location was actually really nice. The sound from the road is a little loud, but if you're tired, you'll probably fall asleep before it gets annoying.

Avoid
Overall, this is pretty much the bottom of the barrel on hostels that I've ever stayed at. Bed was terribly uncomfortable, showers hardly worked, and I was charged to rent a towel. Compounding all that though, is how far it is away from the city center. At least a 2 mile/30 minute walk to any restaurants, bars, or shops. If I had it to do over again, I'd spend the extra $10-$15 to stay in a nicer hostel or guesthouse downtown.

Good place to stay if you're not staying there.
More like a Hostel than a hotel. Friendly staff. Owner more than willing to discuss things to do in Iceland. Served our purposes, as we were on the go all the while we were there.
