Beautiful estuary views
We enjoyed our stay at your hotel including the view, dinner, bar, breakfast and the welcoming reception. There is one exception I would like to share that may help upgrade the rooms to equal quality. A bacteria culture in our bathroom emanated a sweet smell difficult to ignore. It seems like the expense to replace the shower curtain is worth the investment.

Good hotel in a fantastic setting
Very good hotel in an amazing area. Just to be clear, this is not a cheap hotel - we paid about £100 per night for a double room (inclusive of breakfast). The room was large and clean, the service was excellent, the food at reg restaurant was very good, the staff were friendly, but perhaps not worth £100 per night. However, what makes it worth it is the location: our room was on the ground floor of the annexe to the hotel, and our front door and main window were 10yrds for the estuary. The view was absolutely fantastic! Difficult to explain, but I have a few pictures that will probably do it justice. My only criticism is that the Wifi was very weak, it would only work very near the hotel reception and not in our rooms. In this day and age, having a few wifi repeaters is not beyond a hotel's means! However, all's forgiven when I think of the views. We would certainly go again.

January sanctuary for the solo traveller.
This hotel was exactly what I was looking for, a quiet, safe, comfortable, private, January retreat in a fabulous location with well cooked food and friendly staff.

Boutique price, budget quality
Firstly, the good point. The hotel is right by the estuary and the views are stunning. If you book a room here make sure that you don't get the end room in the annex or you won't get the view. We were given that room originally and moved. The basic issue with this hotel is that it is massively overpriced for the standard of the accommodation and the quality of the service. The people working there (or the owners?) were perfectly pleasant but they were understaffed so with two people doing everything customer facing - in the bar, hotel and restaurant you are going to end up having long waits for service. But the more fundamental issue is that in my view £110 a night for the cheaper rooms sets an expectation of boutique hotel level room quality but the actual quality of the room is far below this. No wifi in room.Fixtures & fittings were broken, stained or dirty, the bed was massively uncomfortable and the springs literally groaned every time one of us moved in it, the overall quality of soft furnishings was just poor. For example, there were not proper curtains/blinds so light poured into the room from the lights outside at night. The bathroom was particularly grotty. Ordinarily I would have discussed my complaint whilst we were staying but because I had my mother with me who is very ill I did not want to do this as it would have disrupted her trip and upset her. I thought it was only fair to email the hotel before writing a negative review but didn't get a reply.

You must stay here, we loved it.
Wonderful small hotel in the most amazing location. Even though we live in Wales down the coast less than 90 minutes away we enjoyed this place. The staff are friendly the breakfast is all you could possibly eat with a good selection of starters. Level walk just feet from the hotel, along the estuary and good for cycling and goes on for miles, we walked 9 miles in one morning. Forget the fancy hotels that keep you away from nature, life is more than that ! you will love it here. Watch the Sun go down with the last rays of light dancing on the sea and over the mountains. A little heaven on Earth, we will be back. Thanks to all the staff ( the lady at the bar is very pretty ) back to reality, it is an old building with walls 3 feet thick and solid stone and a lot of character. You just must stay here, if you don't you will always wish you had.
